Sierra Foothill Conservancy

Sierra Foothill ConservancyThe Sierra Foothill Conservancy (SFC), a local land trust, conserves open space between Yosemite and Kings Canyon to protect wildlife, ranching, and natural beauty for present and future generations. SFC offers the local community the opportunity to preserve special places for future generations through voluntary action.

By protecting foothill land SFC has the following as its mission:

  • protect wildlife and preserve native flora
  • provide educational and recreational opportunities for the community
  • promote scientific study of foothill ecosystems
  • maintain open space and beautiful vistas

The Sierra Foothill Conservancy was established in 1996 to provide local, community-based support and management for two outstanding foothill properties: the McKenzie Table Mountain Preserve and the Mary Elizabeth Miller Preserve at Black Mountain.
