Underlying the Trust for Public Land’s ambitious Sierra Nevada Program is a desire to protect the intrinsic value of the Sierra. The Trust for Public Land (TPL) achieves its conservation goals by identifying and protecting critical landscapes through fee acquisition, conservation easements, and other strategies. In cooperation with public agencies, nonprofit organizations, landowners, and foundation partners, TPL works to halt the deterioration of the Sierra Nevada’s unique natural communities. In doing this, TPL protects the rural character and sense of wildness that make the range an incomparable treasure in the American landscape.
